Welcome to Velo Club Tring

Velo Club Tring is an informal group of road cycling enthusiasts of (very) mixed abilities. We meet every Sunday morning 7:30am at Tring Library for a ride. It may be an early start, but it means if you juggle a busy family life you can be back by ten with the rest of the day still ahead of you.

VC Tring Club Run

Whether you are a leisure cyclist or interested in cycling for fitness training, the Velo Club Tring is glad you found our web site, and we hope you will be inspired to join us on a Sunday morning ride around the Chiltern Hills and the Vale of Aylesbury.

We are a small group of about twenty members, men and women, of very mixed abilities and fitness levels. In 2008 two dozen parents took part in a sponsored cycle ride to raise funds for the local Primary School. A few of us decided to continue with regular rides, and the group has grown steadily in numbers ever since.

We’re a very approachable bunch, so please don’t be shy…. why not leave your email address and subscribe to our newsletter, or better still come on over to Facebook and introduce yourself?

Sunday Rides

The club meets every Sunday morning at 7:30am outside the Library in Tring High Street.

Our rides are typically 25 to 35 miles with the emphasis on some competitive sport thrown in between periods of more relaxed riding, it’s really up to you if you want to get into the mix of it all.  We appreciate that some of this may be hard riding if you are back into the sport and this type or riding typically suits more fitter and experienced road cyclists who want to push themselves. Typically this riding is at a faster pace, and venturing up over the Chilterns.

If you feel that this type of riding is not for you yet, that is fine, why not head over to http://www.ivinghoevelos.org.uk/ and hone your skills.  Maybe with a bit of training you may feel more confident to come out with us which would be great, we are always welcoming to new members.

No matter which group you ride with, we pride ourselves on never leaving a rider behind.

Other Rides

During the summer months quite a few of us will often meet up for an evening ride during the week. If you want to ride out at other times other than Sunday morning, there will usually be someone more than willing to go out with you. Just ask the question on our Facebook page.

We are not a group to shy away from a challenge. Throughout the year we will also get involved with several organised rides, audax rides, and sportives in the region. These rides will be longer in distance and will typically range from 50 miles up to 100 miles.

And once or twice a year for those interested, we also organise mini cycling tours. This may involve 2 – 4 days away somewhere in the UK or Europe.
